Radiant Life Church History
Radiant Life Church began in 1930 and was known as the "Tabernacle." After a series of meetings that lasted six weeks and gained 30 converts, the Rev. and Mrs. Harold McKinney headed up the ministry of the Tabernacle. Even though Full Gospel, the remained non-denominational until 1935 when the church became affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
Under the direction of Rev. and Mrs. T.E. Hartshorn, a new church building was erected in 1938 at 203 Main St in Wadsworth. Later the name of the church was changed to First Assembly of God and land was purchased to erect another new building on route 94, north of the city. This is our present location. Dedication services were celebrated on October 2, 1960. A fellowship and education wing was added in 1991 under the direction of Rev. and Mrs. Roger Larrison, & a remodeling program completed in 2002 under the ministry of Pastor Roger Loomis.
Pastor Al Templeton, and his wife Jacquie, along with two sons, Phillip and Tim; assumed the position of Senior Pastor in December of 2004. Pastor Al is an ordained minister, and a graduate of Southestern College of the Assemblies of God.
In June of 2007 the congregation voted to adopt the new name "Radiant Life Church" in view of the direction the Lord is leading us.
Through the years God has helped Radiant Life Church plant several new churches and has witnessed several people go out into full time ministry, and has been a strong missions supporting church.
Radiant Life Church has a rich heritage. We are excited about the present and an even brighter future!
